FunMaths – From Fundamentals to Functionality to Fun

Our Learning Support and Approach

Every student is unique to us; hence, our approach is tailored to suit individual needs. We have supported students who are struggling in school in making significant progress and propelled those who are doing well to continue to develop their full potential.

Employed primarily with students aged 6-12, this approach is not limited by age. Often, we find that older students enjoy and benefit from it just as much.

OUR PEDAGOGY

Story-Prompt Learning Approach

Our distinct Story-Prompt Learning Approach engages young learners by using a combination of storytelling and prompts. This method encourages students to form their own ideas and deepen their understanding of mathematical concepts. By integrating storytelling, we aim to make Maths relatable and exciting, turning abstract concepts into memorable narratives that spark curiosity and creativity. It is an approach proven to not only help students grasp the subject better but also makes learning an enjoyable adventure.

OUR PEDAGOGY

Strategic Thinking Prompt Approach

This approach is designed to take learners beyond the foundational concepts of Maths, guiding them towards advanced applications and critical thinking after they have developed a solid grasp of mathematical concepts.

At FunMaths, we aim to harness and stimulate our learners’ ability to analyse, evaluate, and synthesize information. Through our strategic prompts, students are guided to look at problems and think about effective strategies for finding solutions. Ultimately, the goal is to encourage and foster independent thought and promote the application of knowledge in real-world scenarios.

Depending on the learners’ ability to reason and their understanding of the fundamentals of the subject, we implement this approach as early as with students aged 10 and continue through to A-Levels. This ensures that our students progress systematically, developing their strategic thinking and problem-solving skills at each stage of their educational journey.
